An ongoing documentary project about the personal, off-the-stage lives of burlesque performers in my community in Central Oregon.

It begins with Mehama Kaupp. I was drawn to the many layers in her life: her ability to juggle single motherhood, co-own a thriving burlesque company, work as an in-home nurse and teach pole dancing, all while being a dedicated and loving parent to her spunky daughter, Kiwi. Mehama has made a big effort to expose Kiwi to the non-sexual elements of burlesque and to instill the importance of expression, creativity and self-love.
